About Me

headshot

I was born and raised in Italy, and moved to North Carolina via the military in 1995. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Campbell University in 1998, and my Master's in Counseling Psychology from FSU in 2001. I have been in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2004, I was the staff therapist at the local Rape Crisis Center. This early professional experience has made me connect on a very deep level with patients of all ages who were victims of child sexual abuse, military sexual trauma, incest, and sexual abuse, in all of its forms.

I have worked extensively with active duty service members, military families, and veterans, and I have dealt with PTSD, trauma, redeployment and grief issues. I have also had the privilege to work with several Gold Star Wives and Gold Star Children, and they hold a very special place in my heart. I enjoy working with a variety of issues, and love connecting with my patients to empower them to work towards their goals.

I am EMDR trained, and while I have a strong cognitive behavioral foundation, I have an eclectic approach to therapy, since no two clients are alike. My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental therapeutic environment to clients (age 6 and older) of any gender, cultural background, religious belief, sexual orientation and sexual identity.
